Last weekend, Duesey Days was considered a big success. The parade itself was one of the longest in recent memory and the events that followed were well attended. The crowd was treated to a Taylor Swift warm up band known as the Pork Tornadoes. There were a number of bounce houses and food vendors too.
Garner Mayor Tim Schmidt had a great sense of pride in the accomplishment of the event.
He had a lot of fun being in the parade.
The events that followed the parade also gave Schmidt a sense of pride.
The weekend event drew a number of visitors into town on Saturday and then again on Sunday when a huge attraction was staged on State Street according to Schmidt.
As mayor, Schmidt sees both an economic and visibility factor impact for Garner during the event.
Planning for the event next year has already begun and Schmidt looks forward to what that will bring.
