Summer Prairie Walk

The Winnebago County Conservation Board will hold a leisurely prairie walk at Hagen Prairie, a small native prairie northwest of Lake Mills with Paat Hansen from the Iowa Prairie Network leading the way. The walk will begin at the large Hagen Prairie sign, located at 46380 212th Avenue in Lake Mills. Everyone should wear good walking shoes. Dale Ficken of Mason City was diagnosed with squamous cell throat cancer and can’t work due to treatment. Friends of Dale are hosting a benefit Saturday, August 29th at the Thirsty Dog in Manly, beginning at 2:00 pm with a DJ, pulled pork sandwiches, keg beer, a raffle and auction with great items like concert tickets, overnight stays and more.
