The North Iowa Southern Minnesota Veterans Stand Down will be holding Operation Golden Hawk on Saturday in Mason City. Peter Bieber is one of the organizers and explained that the Stand Down program got its start in California.
The hope is to help these veterans who are looking for assistance and giving them a second chance.
The event will be at the North Iowa Event Center with the opening ceremony at 9am and the closing ceremony at 5pm. The event is for all veterans in the area.
The event will have food boxes and other immediate necessities for those who attend according to Bieber.
The Saturday event is free and open to all veterans.
