The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura girls soccer team opened the season last night at home against Webster City. The Cardinals got out to a great start scoring four goals in the first half and four goals in the second half to defeat Webster City 8-3.
Five of the goals were scored by familiar names to GHV fans; junior Ali Hess scored three goals, while classmate Katelyn Knoll added two more.
Hess wasn’t the only Cardinal to score a hat trick, though. Welcome to varsity soccer, Bella Schisel. The freshman opened her varsity career with the other three goals for her first career hat trick.
