Soybean Harvest Winds Down While Corn is Halfway Complete Locally

The area harvest continues with the emphasis now on corn. Soybeans saw a higher-than-expected yield according to Forest City Farmer’s Coop Director Randy Broesder. He believes that farmers are holding on to some of the grain for better pricing.

Farmers are still out in the fields harvesting corn. Broesder says that this crop is a little wetter than in years past.

This is an improvement from where the points were at the beginning for the harvest season.

Corn is following suit to where soybeans are in harvested amount numbers according to Broesder.

Officials continue to urge caution when driving near fields which are being harvested and continue to look out for slow moving vehicles.
