The area planting season is beginning to wind down. Most of this has to do with the weather and the dry conditions farmers have been dealt. According to Farmers Coop in Forest City Manager Randy Broesder, there are still some spots left.
The planting weather has been a both a boon and a curse because while planting did get done, the ground was baked and crusted from the sporadic moisture.
However, the corn that did come up is looking very impressive to Broesder.
Area replanting in affected areas should wrap up this week.
