Rise and Shine Relay Scheduled

United Way of North Central Iowa has finalized its Campaign 2022. Last year continued to prove to be a very challenging year for everyone. More than 30% of our north central Iowa community continues to struggle to make ends meet and in some cases are working more than ever before. Some of our friends and neighbors continued to lean on food banks and other resources to help meet their basic needs. Despite the many challenges everyone faced last year, they pulled together, and the eight-county region collectively reached a total of $681,632.00. United Way is extremely proud of the community and look forward to 2023 with continued hope and enthusiasm.
They will be celebrating their campaign and presenting campaign awards to their campaign workplaces at their 3rd Annual Rise and Shine Relay, May 17th at 8:00 a.m. Nine local teams will compete in a Trike Race on a racetrack built by Wayne’s Ski and Sport.
This event would not be possible without the generous sponsorship of I-35 Auctions, NextEra Energy, and Ewing Funeral Home. This event will be hosted by Day Peace. All are encouraged to attend.
The following are the community organizations and the programs that were funded with Community Impact funding. An additional 67 nonprofit programs were awarded funds through our donor designation program. Thank you to our community volunteers who sat on Community Impact Teams and dedicated hours to go through and review the many applications they received.
