Winnebago Board to Discuss EMS Status

The Winnebago County Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday morning at 9am and hear from the Lake Mills Ministerial Association requests approval to erect a winter holiday display on the Winnebago County Courthouse grounds.

Winnebago County Engineer Scott Meinders will review with the board all remaining projects on secondary roads in the county. He will also go over mowing progress and road repairs which may need to be done after the harvest is virtually complete.

The board will review any new drainage issues, but there are no outstanding projects or repairs that need to be done according to the Auditor’s Office.

The Emergency Medical Services measure passed that will generate new revenue through property tax increases and a 1% personal income tax on all Winnebago County residents. Now the board will have to decide what steps to take next. The supervisors are expected to take up a discussion on the issue in the Tuesday meeting.

Finally, the board will canvass the 2022 general election results in order to certify them and send the official results to the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office.
