Winnebago Board to Discuss Flood Plain Measures

The Winnebago County Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday morning beginning at 9am to first hear about the current state of secondary roads. Winnebago County Engineer Scott Meinders will review current and future projects along with any repairs.

The board will discuss and possibly pass Ordinance 44 which deals with the Winnebago County Floodplain. The board is working through the Federal Emergency Management Administration and will hold a public hearing to outline and explain the ordinance to the public. The board may remove procedural rule of second and third readings in order to pass it.

Money from payments in lieu of taxes for federal lands will be discussed. The board will look into money that has been designated to counties and decide how to access them.

A measure that was discussed earlier this year had to do with opioid use will be re-examined. Supervisor Terry Durby has asked the board to re-evaluate the measure for the benefit of the county and its citizens.
