Those who are considering hunting for deer must remember that Thorpe Park in Winnebago County is closed to hunters. There are designated areas where hunting can be done. As a result, a remarkable number of deer have migrated into the park where it is safe according to Winnebago County Naturalist Lisa Ralls.
For those who have concerns about where the boundaries are around Thorpe Park, Ralls assures everyone that they will be able to determine where they are in relation to the park.
Ralls also warns everyone who are out on the roads that the deer are on the move and will be for the next month or so. When you are near agricultural or wildlife areas slow down especially in the morning and around dusk.
