Wright County Board Addresses Corn Snow Fence Policy

It may be August, but area boards of supervisors are already addressing winter policies in advent of the season coming. The Wright County Board of Supervisors addressed a policy that has already been in place for some time. It is a corn snow fence policy that helps area secondary roads in the prevention of snow drifts on roadways where the corn rows remain.

The Wright Board heard how the present policy will be applied, however there was some confusion on the price per bushel used as an incentive for farmers to keep corn rows near the roads untouched. Supervisor Dean Kluss asked for clarification from the Assistant to the Wright County Engineer Jeremy Abbas.

Abbas confirmed that the price was firm and that county farmers would know what the rate was per bushel.

Wright County farmers with questions or a desire to participate should contact the Wright County Engineering Office at (515) 532-3597.
