There are a number of individuals who go unnoticed in our communities that do wonderful work in various capacities. For them, it is a way to give back or pay it forward.
The Garner City Council and Mayor Tim Schmidt recognized two of these outstanding citizens.
Ed is an avid golfer so before and maybe after a round, or even on days when he won’t play, he goes around the course picking up trash and sticks on the course.
Schmidt is very proud of these two individuals.
Volunteerism comes in many forms. Some that are not even noticeable while still others are. Some impacts are greater than others and Schmidt made a point to show some of these impacts to his community.
Unfortunately, the city could not make a bigger event out of the recognition and Schmidt had to settle for a low-key celebration.
