HIGH SCHOOL GOLF: Forest City boys win quad with Miller medalist, Harms runner-up

The Forest City boys’ golf team started the season on a high note winning the quad at Round Grove Golf & Country Club last night.

They were supposed to open the season on April 4th at home, but the weather didn’t cooperate. It gave the team a few more practice days before opening last night in Greene.

The Indians swept all the hardware. The team won the title by shooting a low score of 163 and won both individual awards. The medalist was junior Tommy Miller opening with a 9-hole 38, while teammate Jack Harms shot an opening round of 39. Konnor Leitz was right behind the top two with a 40, Ty Dillavou hit a 44, Carson Hall opened with a 47, and Jacob Beenken followed with a 50.

North Butler finished in second with a low score of 196, Northwood-Kensett finished in third with a 205, and Saint Ansgar finished last with a 217.

The Indians turnaround and are back in action again today for a makeup meet in Garner. The meet was initially supposed to be the Indians’ opener at Bear Creek but, instead, will be played today in Garner.
