The GHV boys and girls soccer teams won last night over Belmond-Klemme. The Boys’ team was at home for the first time, and its game was streamed live at KIOW.com.
The boys got a goal from sophomore Zane Hawe, which was enough. Junior goalkeeper Aiden Hawe stopped the one shot Belmond-Klemme got on goal. The Cardinals are now 1-1 after opening the season with a loss to Webster City.
The girls’ team is 2-0 to start the season after besting Belmond-Klemme on the road last night. That’s two lopsided wins for the Cards. Junior Ali Hess had another hat trick with four more goals, while freshman Bella Schisel scored two more, Jenna Pringnitz scored two, and Katelynn Knoll added the last goal for GHV to win 9-0.
