Britt Passes Max Tax Levy for the New Fiscal Year
The Britt City Council has moved forward with its maximum property tax levy proposal after a public hearing on the issue resulted in no public comment. City Administrator Elizabeth Ibarra has had to deal with new valuation legislation from Des Moines that has lowered the amount to be collected from Britt property owners. She explained how the levy was arrived at.
Britt Mayor Ryan Arndorfer emphasized to the council that this was funding coming into the council to be used in the upcoming budget.
Council Person Ashley Weiss voted for the measure in a unanimous decision after reassurances that there were no more recalculations needed to the levy.
The city will now go into budget workshops on March 22nd to finalize a new fiscal year budget.
