The Forest City Fire Department was established in 1897 and is celebrating its 125th Anniversary with a community wide event on today. Forest City Fire Chief Nate Nelson says there is a special fire engine that is also marking a milestone this weekend.
Nelson says the community celebration begins on Saturday afternoon.
The fire department is currently 22 members strong. They meet every Monday evening at the Forest City Emergency services building on Highway 69.
