The Winnebago County Board of Supervisors met this week to review several drainage district reclassifications. These involved Drainage Districts shared with Hancock County 49-79, districts shared with Kossuth County 68-136, along with Winnebago districts 3, 5, 18, 21, and 47.
According to Rick Hopper of Jacobsen-Westergard Engineering, the adjustments are minimal and come at no cost to rural residents and landowners.
Changes in levies will also be very minimal. One resident who attended experienced a change of two dollars. Many may not see that much of a change at all.
Hopper was asked if this issue has come up in other counties in the area.
The collective boards in Kossuth, Hancock, and Winnebago Counties unanimously approved the changes in their respective jurisdictions.
