A bridge located near the 3 Fingers Campground is causing some concern for the Winnebago County Secondary Road Department. The bridge is located on 135th Avenue in section 29 of the Forest Township.
Winnebago County Engineer Scott Meinders has heard from campground officials about the perceived issues.
There are some other issues that the road department was able to determine that may cause additional stress on the bridge.
However, Meinders does not see this as an urgent issue. This is due to the amount of traffic that crosses each day over the bridge.
He discussed with the Winnebago County Board of Supervisors what options are available to the road department.
Meinders did refer to several temporary fixes for the bridge but the board will have to address the problem that will have lasting effects very soon.
