COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Waldorf ranked in latest NAIA football poll
The NAIA released its national rankings today, and for the first time since the 2019 postseason, the Waldorf Warriors have cracked the top 25.
Waldorf has started the season 4-0, winning their last three at home in front of near sellout crowds at Bolstorff Field. Last week, Waldorf received votes for the first time this season, and their 42-17 victory over Dakota State on Saturday has given the voting coaches evidence why Waldorf should be a team to watch as the season progresses.
The NAIA poll is voted on by coaches representing each conference in the country. A conference is given a single voter for every four teams in the conference.
The Waldorf offense has been nearly impossible to stop. The Warriors are second in the country, scoring 171 points in four games. They are 12th in points per game, scoring an impressive 42.8 points per game this season.
The Waldorf defense only allows opponents to score 18.50 points per game and is tenth in the country in defensive interceptions.
The Warriors will have their toughest test yet when they travel to Big Rapids, Michigan, on Saturday to take on defending NCAA Division II national champions, Ferris State.
The Bulldogs are currently undefeated and top-ranked in the NCAA II poll. They will welcome #24 Waldorf for homecoming on Saturday at 3:00 PM ET.
