Hancock County Board Approves HVAC Project

The Hancock County Board of Supervisors met this week to discuss a pending project in the Hancock County Courthouse and Law Enforcement Center. The heating and cooling system is about to be replaced. Alex Matheson from MODUS Engineering who is in charge of the project briefed the board on the bid opening.

Matheson explained that the bid actually came in higher than the engineer’s initial estimate.

Matheson explained that there were some significant reasons why the bid exceeded the engineers projected amount.

Despite the increase in costs to install the new HVAC system, Supervisor Jerry Tlach stated that the county was prepared for the higher price.

The board agreed with the bid and awarded the contract for the replacement of the air conditioning and heating system in the courthouse and Sheriff’s Office.
