Dale Chose

Dale A. Chose, age 72, of Lake Mills, IA, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, under hospice care at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center in Waterloo, IA.

Following cremation, a private family inurnment will be held at North Prairie Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Dale’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 29th, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Ole’s Office, 205 N. Mill St. in Lake Mills.

Schott Funeral Homes – Mittelstadt Chapel in Lake Mills is assisting the family.

Dale Alan Chose was born on June 4, 1954, in Albert Lea, MN, to parents Oliver and Rita (Thomas) Chose. Dale was baptized and confirmed at North Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Winnebago County. He attended and graduated Lake Mills High School in 1972.

Dale always had a love for cars. He worked in car sales for Nelson Chevrolet in Lake Mills for a number of years. He later worked at Larson’s Manufacturing and 5-Star Co-op before retiring. In his free time, Dale enjoyed taking his prized car for a cruise to Vinje, Scarville, or catching up with friends at the North Branch Bar in Lake Mills. He also enjoyed wood working and collecting various antiques.

Dale is preceded in death by both parents, Oliver and Rita Chose; and a brother, Mark Chose.

Surviving members of his family include his sister, Connie Doscher of Sioux City, IA; sister in-law, Kathy Chose of Lake Mills, IA; nieces and nephews, Jason (Jennifer) Chose of Polk City, IA, Allison (Dan) Rice of Lake Mills, IA, Sarah Doscher of Sioux City, IA, Lindsay (Fabian) McCord of Lake Mills, IA, and Andrew (Stephanie) Doscher of Sioux City, IA; many great nieces and nephews, as well as numerous loving extended relatives and friends.
