Vernon Peterson, 83, of Forest City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Society in Forest City surrounded by his family.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 28, 2026, at United Methodist Church, 305 South Clark Street, Forest City, with Pastor Les Green and Rachel Eggum Cinader officiating.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Schott Funeral Home, 505 North Clark St, Forest City, IA 50436, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday morning.
Burial of cremains will take place at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, IA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Croix Hospice.
