Water Main Break Cuts Service to Northwest Buffalo Center Homes

BUFFALO CENTER, Iowa — A water main break has left some homes and businesses in Buffalo Center without water service or with reduced water pressure Friday.

The affected area includes properties in the northwest part of town, generally bounded by Seventh Avenue NW to the north, North Mill Road to the west, North Main Street to the east and Fourth Avenue NW to the south, according to a map released by the city. The zone includes streets near North Iowa Community School.

Water service in the affected section will be off for a few hours while crews make repairs, the city said. Officials said they will post an update once service is restored.

The city apologized for the inconvenience the outage may cause residents and businesses in the area.

Residents outside the marked area were not reported to be affected as of Friday.
