Hancock County Board Addresses Crystal Lake Rumble Strips

The Hancock County Board of Supervisors were approached about the placement of rumble strips along the road adjacent to the banks of Crystal Lake over the 4th of July holiday. Hancock County Supervisor Chairman Bud Jermeland explained that the county has jurisdiction over that road.
The Hancock County Engineering Office needs to be aware of the situation which is why a permit is required. The engineers would have to make a road design determination as to the safety of placing rumble strips.
According to Jermeland, the strips were removed.
While the situation in Crystal Lake was dealt with quickly, Jermeland reminds residents that there are laws governing road blockages and closures.
