Clear Lake Cheerleader Monica Herreguin Recovering at Mayo Hospital After Jet Ski Accident; Community Rallies to Support Family

CLEAR LAKE — A Clear Lake High School cheerleader is recovering from serious injuries at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, following a jet ski accident that has left her family facing a long and difficult road to recovery.

Monica Herreguin sustained serious injuries in the accident and remains hospitalized as she works through treatment and rehabilitation. Family and supporters describe her as showing remarkable strength and determination through the ordeal.

Herreguin is expected to return home in a wheelchair as she continues her recovery, a transition that will require significant adjustments for her and her family. Those changes include ongoing rehabilitation, ongoing medical care, and modifications to make her family’s living space accessible.
