Garner Looks to Fill Recreation Positions

The Garner Parks and Recreation Department is very busy during this time of year with a number of activities taking place. One of the continual needs is at the Garner Aquatic Center where Garner Mayor Tim Schmidt says, they need some help.

The city is making an effort to build their corps of lifeguards according to Schmidt.

The city provides the Red Cross training that is required to fill the post and is looking to fill remaining positions where needed.

Garner is not alone. Some cities in the area face a shortage of pool lifeguards but have been able to operate normally and within Red Cross guidelines.
