Forest City Community School District students are now participating in the summer lunch program according to Forest City School Superintendent Darwin Lehmann.
Wednesday became the first day this summer that the food kits were handed out.
Lehmann emphasized the importance for parents and children to RSVP before receiving the meals. This way, the nutrition staff is not caught off guard.
Lehmann is very grateful to the nutritional staff and members of the community for making the first day an overwhelming success.
The program is still accepting participants.
