Hancock County District Fair to Start Later Than Normal

Area county fairs are either in the planning stages or are in progress in Iowa. One of those fairs will be the Hancock County Fair. This year’s fair will be a little different as far as timing is concerned, says Hancock County ISU Extension Specialist Victoria Schmidt.

A number of factors play into the late date according to Schmidt, but the fair will be done before the Iowa State Fair commences in Des Moines.

The Hancock County ISU Extension Office will be busy with a number of activities for area youth to get involved in prior to either fair. Schmidt stated that getting involved is easy.
