Rotary Wants to Add a Park in Garner

The Garner City Council was approached about the possibility by the Garner Rotary Club to add a park to the golf course. Garner Mayor Tim Schmidt stated that there was interest in the idea.

The concept fills a need in the area according to Schmidt.

Start up costs are something that the city has to take into consideration after new tax regulations were put in place by the Iowa Legislature. While the city kept a tight budget by capping taxation, the city has to tighten its belt even further.

Schmidt is happy that there are residents who want to take it upon themselves to help with new amenities in the community.

The city is looking forward to seeing how well the fund raising goes for the new space.
