Wright County Wants Further Review of Duties Policy

The Wright County Board of Supervisors are looking into a segregation of duties policy that would define responsibilities and improve accountability. County officials are docked by the independent outside auditor over staffing issues according to former Wright County Auditor and current County Supervisor Betty Ellis.
Ellis along with many of the other smaller counties run into the problem of staffing to meet the needs of the accountability requirements.
She also spoke to the other departments and agencies within the county on the issue.
The segregation of duties was inspired by a real life situation that occurred according to Ellis.
The board of supervisors voted to table the review of the policy in order to get a better understanding of the responsibilities of each office and the capability to meet outside auditor requirements.
