The Forest City Parks and Recreation Department continually makes repairs and installs replacement parts to the Forest City Aquatic Center. This includes things like sealing cracks in the pool, repainting, and now a focus on an often used part of the pool, the diving boards. Parks and Recreation Supervisor Sue Edmondson explained the situation to the Forest City Council.
The expense of the diving boards varies depending on the company that is used according to Edmondson.
Recreation Director Brett Geelan explained to the council why these boards need replacement.
Edmondson is retiring in December. She took a moment to show her appreciation to the council.
She also recognized the community for their way of making it a family gathering site.
The council approved the purchase of the new boards which come out of the next fiscal year budget.
