Women United Hosts “Power of the Purse” to Empower Women Toward Financial Stability

Women United invites the community to attend its annual Power of the Purse fundraising event on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Palms Rooftop Cabana in Clear Lake.
This high-energy evening features Purse Bingo, a live purse auction, and an opportunity to support women in North Iowa on their journey from education to employment. Attendees can enjoy a fun night out with friends while making a direct impact on local women striving to achieve financial stability and independence.
Funds raised through Power of the Purse provides emergency assistance and scholarships for low-income women enrolled in the Education to Employment program at North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC), helping them gain the education and job skills they need to support their families and build brighter futures.
“This event is more than a night of fun and fashion—it’s about empowering women to change their lives,” said Jen Arends, CEO of United Way of North Central Iowa. “Each purse represents an opportunity for someone to break barriers and build a more stable future.”
Tickets are $50 per person, and tables are available for purchase for groups or businesses wishing to attend together. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with bingo starting at 6:30 p.m.
