The Lake Mills City Council approved changes to their policy regarding golf cart inspections. The city has changed the rule to reflect that golf carts do not need an inspection when operated in city limits according to City Clerk Diane Price.
Once the measure cleared the first vote to do away with inspections, the council quickly motioned for the second and third readings to be waved to make way for final passage. The council then passed the changes on a final vote.
It will now be the responsibility of the owner of the golf cart to make sure the vehicle is in good working condition before driving it on Lake Mills city streets.
