The Winnebago County Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday at 9am and you can view it live on kiow.com. The board will open the meeting by discussing whether or not to release the lien on the Irish Hospital Apartments. Since the conversion from the county jail into residential apartments, the property has seen great success in moving forward.

Winnebago County Engineer Scott Meinders will discuss the current state of the secondary roads including all mowing and grading projects.

Drainage matters will be to look into approving the first change order for the cleanout and repair of lines in Drainage District 92. Sand has been the major obstacle and has forced the supervisors to reconsider the project as a whole. The board will also be presented with specific drainage levies and appropriate taxes. The board may approve those tax figures.

Heavy metal lids are causing problems for those wanting to put their recyclables into the containers in Thompson. The rural recycling site has lids on bins at eye level for many and they are too heavy to lift. The board will have to review possible actions to fix this problem.

The supervisors are being asked to make changes in their Emergency Medical Services program. One of these is possibly discontinuing the Project Coordinator position.

Finally, the Sheriff’s Office has a Chief Deputy, but the job description has never fully been laid out. The county would like to see a description arrived at for records and clarification purposes.
