With the resignation of Chad Luecht as a Britt City Council member in April, the Britt City Council had several options to try and fill the vacancy. The city had the chance to hold a special election or to simply appoint someone. The appointment would mean that residents who are represented by that seat could petition to hold an election.
The council opted to nominate Abby Post to fill the vacancy. She was sworn in and now will serve until the term expires at the end of 2023.
