Forest City boys and girls sweep TIC crowns…… Again

For a second straight year, the Forest City boys and girls track and field teams won both conference titles last night in Algona. Forest City was the favorite on the girls’ side, but the boys took home the crown after most expected the West Hancock Eagles to leave with the hardware.

The most interesting part is both teams won the title in different ways. The girls won with brute force, taking points in most events and winning 10 of the 19 scored events. The Indians didn’t have the best night in the field events but made up for it with the running ones.

The boys’ coaching staff was meticulous in where they placed runners and scored points where they needed to in order to come out on top. Just three Indians won events on the night; Vinton Feldman won the long jump, while Dakota Carlson jumped to a win in the high jump. Also, Colby Krutsinger won the discus throw.
