Stone Reflects on the Legislatures Work on Area Childcare

One of the major issues which can also be one of the major attractions to the area is the abundance of childcare facilities and opportunities for area cities. The YMCA in Forest City has a large program but there are waiting lists there and pretty much anywhere you go. Business and industry thrive on these programs to be successful in recruiting employees.

State Representative Henry Stone who represents Winnebago County and those immediately west says that he has been working on this issue for this and past sessions.

Stone also worked with a bill that would cover those who have childcare programs in their home.

He cited other programs that have assisted where the state felt help was needed for childcare.

Stone felt that the work was not done in this area and will continue to try and help fill the gaps, if any, to make starting childcare or adding to it in a city or area that much easier and profitable.
