Track and Field season is currently underway at area schools and one year from now, visitors will see changes when they attend events at West Hancock in Britt. There will be a complete track facelift. West Hancock Community Schools Superintendent Wayne Kronemann says by his estimation, the current track was installed sometime during the mid 1970’s.
Kronemann stated the current six land track will replaced with an eight lane track.
There will be other amenities added to the area.
An additional change will be the removal of rock surrounding the track.
Construction will begin next month and commence in time for the beginning of the 2023-24 school year.
