Changes Made to Solid Waste Rates in Forest City

The Forest City Council adopted an ordinance which amends Chapter 106 on the collection of solid waste. Streets and Sanitation Director Andrew Faber explained what the change involved.

With the dumpsters which residents can rent from the city to throw away large quantities of materials, Faber and his department have been noticing trash being discarded too.

The changes in the ordinance did not go through normal parliamentary procedures of three separate session readings. Instead, the council waived the rules and put the changes into effect. Forest City residents who may want to temporarily rent a dumpster can all city hall for more information at 585-4573.
