(The Winnebago County Board of Supervisors meeting has concluded).

The Winnebago County Board of Supervisors will meet beginning at 8:30am instead of the usual 9am start in order to hold a closed session to discuss the purchase or sale of particular real estate pursuant to Iowa Code section 21.5(1)(j). Once the closed session is completed, you can view the meeting live on kiow.com.

The board will hear from Winnebago County Engineer Scott Meinders once the closed session is complete. He will discuss the current state of secondary roads. He will present to the supervisors a pair of bridge projects. These will include approval for federal aid for one bridge project and the need for the approval of a temporary easement for a bridge replacement in Buffalo Township, Section 9.

Drainage matters will be next as Drainage Clerk Kris Oswald will review the schedule for projects in the future and address abandoning part of Lateral 2B1 in Drainage District 2-3. The landowners Jim and Ben Dontje want to improve a private tile and are willing to take over the county portion of the tile. They would then pay for any future repairs to the former county tile as well as their own. It would not affect the amount of water flowing into the district.

Supervisors will hold a pair of public hearings. The first deals with the purchase of new scanners in the election equipment stock. Election Commissioner Karla Weiss explained the need for the new election scanning equipment.

The second public hearing will be for Sector Technology for New Equipment for Sheriff Department.

Finally, the board will return to discussions regarding the proposed addition to the Public Health building.
