Wright County Holds Action on Workforce Development Withdrawal

Iowa Workforce Development has been undergoing a series of regulation changes which have been causing a lot of confusion for participating area counties. Pocahontas County, Wright, and others are considering withdrawing from the program because of conflicting rules and regulations to administer and carry out the program.

The Wright County Board of Supervisors was scheduled to take a vote on the program last Monday according to Board Chairman Dean Kluss.

Wright County Auditor Betty Ellis agreed that the county could not take action until the state makes amendments to the program.

Concerns grew amongst the board as to whether they had enough time to withdraw from the program.

The board will take up the withdrawal request on Monday.
