Feenstra Votes to Overturn Biden Administration’s Burdensome WOTUS Rule

Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for, and the U.S. House of Representatives approved, a joint resolution rescinding the Biden Administration’s onerous and expansive “Waters of the United States” (WOTUS) rule. Feenstra is an original cosponsor of this joint resolution.

“Between record inflation, high energy costs, and regulatory uncertainty, farmers are already facing serious hurdles and significant challenges. Unelected bureaucrats should not make their work harder,” said Rep. Feenstra. “I’m proud to join my colleagues in overturning the Biden Administration’s radical WOTUS rule and returning local control to our farming community. As Iowa’s voice in Congress, I will always stand up for rural America.”

Under the Congressional Review Act (CRA), Congress has the authority to hold the Executive Branch accountable for its rulemaking procedures and review onerous rules, including the new WOTUS definition.

In January, Feenstra joined 195 of his Republican colleagues in sending a letter to EPA Administrator Michael Regan demanding that the Biden Administration rescind its final and destructive WOTUS rule.

Last month, Feenstra wrote a column titled “Iowa Farmers are the Best Stewards of their Farmland,” outlining his opposition to the Biden Administration’s overreaching WOTUS rule.
