Hancock County to Purchase New Election Equipment

The Hancock County Board of Supervisors have authorized the purchase of new election machines and equipment. The county will handle the cost of the purchase according to Hancock County Auditor Michelle Eisenman.

The county wants to minimize the impact on the budget for the taxpayers with smaller installment payments which Supervisor Gary Rayhons said was just above $30,000.

Eisenman stated that the last time the county bought the present voting equipment, it was between 2015 and 2016. Seven years later, Eisenman, who is the Election Commissioner in Hancock County, thought that the equipment needed to be more modern and up-to-date.

Rayhons echoed what the rest of the board felt was needed right now for the upcoming elections.

The board held a public hearing on the matter but received no comments or objections.
