New Worth Courthouse Deemed Not an Urban Renewal Project

Worth County government has a plan that would demolish the current county courthouse in favor of a new facility. The thought is that the new facility would alleviate current issues with the old facility.

Jeff Gorball is with the Planning and Zoning Commission for Worth County. He reported back to the Worth County Board of Supervisors that commission members were not in agreement on the concept that the new facility would be a part of urban renewal.

The commission not only did not agree with the construction of a new facility as an urban renewal project but cited a major reason why they felt it should not take place.

The current facility has a number of issues which need to be addressed if it is to be maintained.

The supervisors took the recommendations under consideration.
