Secretary Pate Helping 47,000 Iowans Register to Vote

Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate is helping Iowans register to vote ahead of the 2022 general election. His office mailed a postcard to approximately 47,000 Iowans who are eligible to vote, but not registered. The postcard includes instructions on how to register and a QR code the recipient can use to register online.

The postcards should arrive in mailboxes this week. The mailing to eligible but unregistered Iowans is conducted annually by the Secretary of State.

Iowa is one of 33 states enrolled in the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC). Participation in ERIC helps Iowa election officials improve the accuracy of the voter rolls, register more eligible citizens, and improve efficiencies in the voting process. The mailing is done as a result of information from ERIC.

More than 538,000 Iowans have registered to vote since Secretary Pate took office in January 2015. You can register to vote online and get other important election-related information at VoterReady.Iowa.gov.
