EEC Groundbreaking Scheduled

The Winnebago County Conservation Board and the Friends of Winnebago County Conservation Foundation have scheduled an official Groundbreaking Ceremony for their new Environmental Education Center! The ceremony will be held on Monday morning, October 10th, at 11:00 AM, at the Center’s building site. The building site address is 41600 US Highway 69, north of Leland.

Members of the Conservation Board and the Foundation Board will be on hand to break the ground for the new Center. Construction on the Center is beginning after a 4-year fundraising effort, although more money is still needed to complete the building project, as well as to purchase furnishings and exhibits for the new building. Construction will continue into next year and should be finished by the end of 2023.
