Sunday Talk: Feenstra Backs the Blue

MY VOTE TO BACK THE BLUE
Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities.
I was proud to support the Invest to Protect Act to fully fund our police and give them the tools they need to do their jobs. I’ll always back the blue 100%.
IOWA NATIVE ALEXIS TAYLOR NOMINATED FOR USDA UNDER SECRETARY FOR TRADE
In April, I sent a letter to President Biden urging him to nominate a qualified individual to serve as USDA Under Secretary for Trade.
While this process took far too long, I’m pleased Iowa native Alexis Taylor is well on her way to be confirmed by the Senate to serve Iowa farmers.
MY MEETING WITH THE FARM JOURNAL FOUNDATION
On Tuesday, I sat down with Larry Sailer from the Farm Journal Foundation to talk about global food security and the upcoming Farm Bill.
As the breadbasket to the world, I am working to draft a strong Farm Bill that supports agriculture research and 4th District farmers and producers.
ASSOCIATION OF EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS
I had an excellent conversation with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers to discuss American manufacturing competitiveness, precision agriculture advancements, and workforce matters.
Equipment manufacturers are critical to our economy, supporting 132,000 jobs and generating $13.7 billion in economic activity in Iowa.
CARROLL COUNTY GROWTH PARTNERSHIP MEETING
I enjoyed meeting with the Carroll County Growth Partnership last week.
We discussed how we can work together to expand rural healthcare, support economic development, and make rural Iowa the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: CLAY COUNTY FAIR HAS RECORD YEAR
Clay County Fair officials released a report that showed increases were seen in involvement, spending, and attendance numbers.
The Clay County fair attendance saw a 17.4% increase with a total of 325,585 attendees. Spending on food and carnival rides hit an all-time high of $2,833,943.
We are government together, and I am here to serve you. Your thoughts, concerns, and comments are very important to me. Always feel free to call (202) 225-4426 or visit my website at feenstra.house.gov.
Sincerely,
Rep. Randy Feenstra
Member of Congress
