Joseph D. Grandgenett

Joseph Daniel Lawrence Grandgenett (Joe, Joey, Granny, and other nicknames), passed away at his home in North Branch, MN on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the age of 40.

A visitation will take place at Tailgaters Sports Bar and Grill (6355 Elm St.) in North Branch on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m.

Joe was born to Dan and Judy (Unger) Grandgenett on Sunday, October 11, 1981, in Britt, Iowa. In 1985, Joe became a big brother to his sister, Amy. Together they loved to build snow forts, ride their bikes in the yard, and play on the swings. In Middle School and High School, Joe loved participating in football, track, baseball, drama, band, chorus, speech, quiz bowl, art and everything our small town community had to offer. He attended Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne Community School all of his school years. Upon graduation in 2000, he attended Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine, in 2004. He attended Minnesota State University in Mankato for further education.

Joe has had many great longtime friends, including his other two musketeers from school days. Buddies from College days, and coworkers, they all have meant so much to him in his life. In 2014 Joe met his beautiful wife, Rachel. The love blossomed with the birth of their daughter, Millicent James Lee (Millie). Joe was blessed with a ready made family of Rachel’s 5 other children. Joe was always a family man and prioritized his family above everything else in his life. On June 19, 2020, Rachel became Joe’s wife, where they were making a happy home in North Branch, MN.

Joe is preceded in death by his son, Michael H.L. Grandgenett, maternal grandparents, Harry and Rose (Stupka) Unger, paternal grandfather Lawrence (Larry) Grandgenett, cousin, Tena (Rohrback) Skudlarek, Uncle Gary Rohrback, Aunt Marla (Grandgenett) Reding, Joe is survived by wife, kids, parents, sister, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandchildren and in laws.
