Forest City is facing an unexpected increase in electrical costs which may spur an adjustment in the form of a surcharge on future electric bills of 1 cent per kilowatt hour. The Forest City Council passed a second reading of the surcharge which means there is only one more reading to go before the charge is passed.
Upon the conclusion of the 2nd reading vote, Electric Department Director Duane Kuhns delivered some more bad news to the council.
Kuhns will keep the council posted on the current situation and make further recommendations if they warrant.
