Cafaro Highlights the Hobo Convention in Her Podcast

The National Hobo Convention in Britt is ongoing and has attracted attention nationwide. Capri S. Cafaro is a Midwestern girl at heart. A native of Ohio, she served in state government for a decade where she focused her work on health care and the needs of the vulnerable. Capri is the author of the new cookbook, United We Eat: 50 Great American Dishes to Bring Us Together (Story Farm Press). She has also written about food, culture and travel for outlets such as FoodNetwork.com, TravelForFoodHub.com, FoxNews.com and often brings her baking skills to TV audiences across the country as well as teaches regular culinary experiences with Tastemade. Capri recently examined Hobo Days in an episode of her hit Midwestern foodways-focused podcast, Eat Your Heartland Out called “Riding the Rail to Britt Iowa’s Hobo Days” where she did a deep dive into the history behind Britt Hobo Days and what the convention is today.

While she has not visited the convention in person, she knows that the convention is no small event, particularly in northern Iowa.

She wants to personally explore how Britt continues to be the home for the National Hobo Convention and to do so means to get out on the road soon.

Being a culinary expert, she wants to experience first-hand the famous Mulligan Stew.

Capri continues to keep the Hobo Days podcast online to give followers, a small sense of the magnitude of the event.
